About IRS offices in Ohio
The Internal Revenue Service operates 10 Taxpayer Assistance Centers in Ohio to help residents with identity verification, ITIN applications, payments, transcripts and account questions. Centers are open Monday through Friday and see taxpayers by appointment only; many smaller ones close for lunch.
You can use any Ohio IRS office regardless of your home address. Appointment lead times vary a lot between centers; if one is booked weeks out, ask for the next closest when you call 844-545-5640. Our "find office near me" tool sorts by proximity automatically.
Many transactions can be completed online at irs.gov without visiting an office — especially getting a tax transcript, requesting an IP PIN and setting up a payment plan. For appointments call 844-545-5640; for general tax questions the IRS individual line is 800-829-1040, both Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM local time. See our guide to reaching a live agent quickly.
